Ohaneze youths beg FG to release detained Igbos

The national leadership of Ohanaze Youth Wing has called on the Federal Government to unconditionally release all Igbo detainees in various detention facilities across the country to guarantee sustainable peace in the South Eastern region. 

The National Publicity Secretary of the group, Mazi Chika Adiele, who conveyed call at the emergency National Executive Council meeting in a statement yesterday, said it was against the backdrop of intervention by prominent Igbo leaders to ensure peace in the region. 

He said: “We boldly restate the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and all Igbo detainees languishing in different cells across the country with immediate effect. That the unfortunate decision to suspend our National Youth Leader, Engr Damian Okafor, is hereby cancelled and he is fully reinstated with all the rights and privileges of the office of the National Youth Leader.
