Ogun woman, daughter abducted, as villagers rescue farmer

Gunmen have reportedly abducted a businesswoman, Mujidat Otefila, and her daughter in Oju-Ilu village in Imeko-Afon LGA of Ogun State.

Our correspondent gathered that the victims were abducted on Saturday night at the back of Imeko-Afon LGA Secretariat.

It was gathered that the gunmen numbering three earlier abducted a farmer, Ikanlu Jimoh, while he was planting tomatoes on his farm in Saparu village in Imeko-Afon LGA.

The source said, “The gunmen covered their faces with masks and started shooting to scare away other people farming with him.”

He further said that the victim was however abandoned by his abductors when villagers chased them into the bush.

The police spokesperson in the state, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incidents, explained that the police and men of the Amotekun Corps combed the bush which forced the kidnappers to flee.
