The Commissioner of Police (CP) in Ogun State, Abiodun Alamutu, has lamented the disturbing increase in cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) experienced in 2023 across the state.
He disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta on the activities of the command last year.
Alamutu, however, said the command, in collaboration with the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Adijat Adeleye, worked diligently and addressed some of the cases. The CP, therefore, enjoined mothers “to oversee and protect the welfare of their female adolescent children against predators so that we can collectively counter and prevent these forms of abuses.
