Students of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ijebu – Ode, Ogun State yesterday reportedly attacked operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad.
One of the students alleged the operatives who came with a Toyota Camry car, were on a trail of a cyber crime suspects popularly called “Yahoo boys.”
The eyewitness said students confronted the operatives numbering four to challenge their presence on campus.
The president of the institution’s Students’ Union Government, Olamide Adeboun, in a statement, alleged that the operatives attempted to make an arrest without informing the school authority.
The spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident, saying it was being investigated.
