The Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has ordered a probe to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of a female student, Miss Awojeji Itunnuoluwa, in a room in the males’ hostel on Sunday night.
The investigation which will be carried out by the university’s security unit followed a directive of the acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the institution, Prof Wole Banjo.

The spokesman of TASUED, Mrs Odubela Ayotunde, made this known on Wednesday.
In a statement, Mrs Ayotunde identified the male student who was also found unconscious that Sunday night as Mr Zion Elisha Kufre, a 200 level student of mathematics.
She said the incident took place at a private hostel in one of the university’s host communities.
The statement reads in part: “The acting vice-chancellor has since ordered a full investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident by the university security unit.
“The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has since commenced an independent investigation of the incident.”
