Ogun speaker receives certificate of return, promises improved legislation

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, has received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following his re-election to represent the Ifo I constituency.

Oluomo emerged as the winner after a supplementary poll recently conducted in the constituency. He was presented with his certificate of return at the INEC office in Abeokuta yesterday.

Speaking shortly after receiving his certificate, the speaker attributed his fourth consecutive term electoral success to the glory of God and the unflinching support from his constituents.

He noted that he, alongside 25 other members-elect of the incoming 10th assembly, had resolved to build on the legacy of the present legislature through improved representation that would lead to a better society.

He asked the people of the state to work in synergy with INEC with a view to sustaining the principle of free and fair election across the nation for the growth of Nigeria’s democracy.
