Ogun police arrest 500 cultists in 2 years

The Ogun State Police Command has said it arrested over 500 members of cult groups between 2019 and 2020.

The Commissioner of Police, Edward A. Ajogun, who disclosed this, said cultism was partly responsible for rising cases of kidnapping, armed robbery, murder and other violent crimes in the state.

CP Ajogun spoke in Abeokuta at the launch of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) initiative.

According to him, the police arrested no fewer than 432 cultists in various locations in the state in 2019 and over 100 in 2020.
