The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has called for the redeployment of the state director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Femi Aaron, over the naira scarcity protest that rocked Sagamu on Monday.
Some commercial banks’ branches and a local government secretariat were destroyed in the ensuing attacks.
The deputy governorship candidate of the PDP, Adekunle Akinlade, at a press conference in Abeokuta, alleged that Governor Dapo Abiodun had been harassing candidates of the party with the DSS in connection with the mayhem.
Akinlade, while expressing doubt about the neutrality of the DSS boss, alleged that the DSS broke into the house of five candidates and their supporters without a formal invitation or warrant.

He claimed that instead of shifting blame, it was the governor that incited the public against the banks.
But reacting, the governor through his chief press secretary, Kunle Somorin, denied harassing opponents with security operatives.
“Clear conscience fears no accusations. No one with clean hands should feel harassed or intimidated. Let anyone invited, who has nothing to hide, no skeleton in their cupboard, go and clear their names.
“Justice, fairness and public order are at stake. Politicising them will do neither the incumbent administration nor the opposition any good,” Somorin said.
