Ogun panel receives 20 petitions on police brutality

The Ogun State Judicial Panel of investigation said it has received 20 petitions from victims of police brutality and human rights abuse by security operatives within the last two weeks of inauguration.

The chairman of the panel, Justice Solomon Olugbemi (Rtd), who disclosed this to journalists after a meeting with members of the Panel in Abeokuta on Friday, said its maiden sitting would hold on Thursday, November 5.

The panel which was inaugurated by Governor Dapo Abiodun two weeks ago, was charged with the responsibility of investigating complaints of police brutality, human rights violations and related extra-judicial killings.
