The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota LGA of Ogun State, Sheriff Musa, has said that his council has sought the support of security agencies to curb the unwholesome activities of commercial motorcycle riders, popularly called Okada operators, in Igbesa community.
Mr Musa, who disclosed this while receiving a delegation from the Igbesa Community Forum led by a former chairman of the council, Dr Bankole Sewanu, noted that the influx of Okada riders remained a major concern to the council, but assured that necessary security and administrative measures would be taken through the state and local security outfits to ensure security of lives and property.
He added that his administration had resolved to get registered uniforms for all commercial motorcyclists in the council as a means of identification and to set up a task force to instill compliance and apprehend offenders.
Earlier, Dr Sewanu said it was imperative for the forum to work together with the council towards finding a lasting solution to security threats in the community.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Amalgamated Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria, Igbesa chapter, Comrade Olamilekan Adeyemi, promised to cooperate and support the association with developmental initiatives to curb all atrocities associated with his members.
