Ogun gov’s Press Secretary hospitalised after miscreants’ attack

The Chief Press Secretary to Ogun State Governor, Kunle Somorin, has been hospitalized following an attack on him by some miscreants.

The miscreants hurled hard objects at Somorin as he reportedly sustained injury in the head.

The incident occurred at a youth parley with Governor Dapo Abiodun, as part of the maiden National Youths Day celebration held at Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Tuesday.

The miscreants, who were part of the participants of the event, attacked Somorin shortly after Abiodun had left the venue.

It was gathered that the miscreants became enraged following the refusal of some dignitaries to attend to their financial request.

It was further gathered that Somorin, who went to the event in his personal car, became the object of the attack by the miscreants while he was moving towards where he parked his car to leave the venue.

Somorin reportedly sustained an injury on the head when the miscreants hurled hard objects believed to be stones at him.

He was quickly rushed to a clinic at Oke-Mosan governor office where he was being treated, as of the time of this report.

When contacted, Somorin, who confirmed that he was attacked by miscreants, said he was feeling better .

He said: “I am better now.

“It was the miscreants. There is no panic. I am fine.”
