The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) on Monday, presented Certificate of Returns to the 57 newly elected Local Governments (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Abeokuta, the Commission’s headquarters.

The Chairman of the State Independent National Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Alhaja Risikat Ogunfemi, personally handed over the certificates to the winners.

Some of the newly elected chairmen who spoke with our Correspondent promised to make a good turnaround in their respective areas.

The newly chairman of Agbara Igbesa LCDA, Ebenezer Oniyide, said that "mistakes of the past would be corrected and that our party’s manifesto would be followed to the letter."

Also, the chairman of Odeda local government area, assured that "ours shall be all inclusive government. We are going to run an open administration, which a government at the grassroots should be noted for.

"Because we are also an agrarian community, we shall look into the state of our agriculture, with a view to improving on it."

All the chairmen and their 349 councillors are now at the June 12 Cultural centre for their swearing in ceremony, with the state governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun presiding.
