The Chief Judge (CJ) of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, has granted amnesty to seven inmates as part of effort to decongest correctional centres across the state.
Justice Dipeolu announced the amnesty during a jail delivery exercise at the conference hall of the state high court complex in Abeokuta.
He stated that the details of the released inmates, including names, fingerprints and pictures, were thoroughly documented in case any of them committed another crime.
She advised the beneficiaries to refrain from crime, noting that they might not be as lucky if they found themselves back in custody.

In his remark, the officer in charge of the Old Custodial Centre, Abeokuta, James Ogunmoyede, commended the state government for its support in ensuring prompt justice dispensation, charging heads of correctional centres to ensure prompt notification of the CJ of any occurrence.
