Hundreds of visitors on Tuesday, expressed delight over the renovation of the Ogun State House of Assembly as the State governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun is now presenting the 2018 budget, tagged: Budget of accelerated development.
The Speakerof the House, Suraj Adekunbi acknowledged the renovation, which according is coming after seven years the last renovation was carried out.
In his opening address, Adekunbi remarked that commendation should go to the Executive arm of the government for given speedy approval for the renovation exercise. He added that a300kva transformer was provided to boost power supply to the Assembly complex.
He also disclosed that in the year under review, nine bills and eight motions were effected by the House, while oversight functions were also carried out dutifully by the 26-member Assembly.
Findings by our Correspondent indicated virtually all departments particularly the hollow chambers had a feel of the renovation.
Amosun who is still reading the budget hinted that the 2017 recorded 72 .6 per cent as at September 2017.
He said the year has been tough as a result of the recession, but, "we have learnt great lessons that our economy must be diversified
Among top dignitaries present was former Head of interim Government , Chief Ernest Shonekan.
