Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports and Youth Development, Senator Obinna Ogba on Thursday charged the Super Eagles to go all out for victories in their friendly matches to further boost their confidence ahead of the remaining matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying race.
Speaking at the Crowne Plaza London Ealing hotel on Thursday, the former NFF vice president also praised the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation for organizing two friendly matches for the Super Eagles against strong African opposition in London this month.
He said: “The NFF has done very well putting these two matches together. Senegal and Burkina Faso are very strong teams in Africa, and they will provide the Eagles will quality opposition.
“The players must put up their best in both matches. It would be good for them to win so as to sustain their winning streak and be ready for the likes of Cameroon when the World Cup qualifiers resume.
“My advice to the NFF has always been that they should never allow any FIFA window to go unexploited. I want to use this opportunity to call on the Federation to ensure that they organize a friendly against a top European nation for the Super Eagles during the FIFA window in June. This will help the team’s preparation for the World Cup qualifying matches.”
