Offa attack ignites call for stronger security

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Saliu Mustapha has appealed to the Inspector General of Police to strengthen the security apparatus of Kwara State, especially offa community through provision of more  armed personnel and Armoured Personnel Carriers.

Mustapha gave the appeal in a statement he personally issued to journalists in Ilorin to commiserate with the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye ll, the entire people of Offa Community and the state government.

The APC Chieftain also urged both the Federal and State governments to increase security funding by providing necessary gadgets and sophisticated weapons for security personnel to enhance their work.

"Our security agencies must do everything within their powers to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous acts and bring them to book, as such mindless violence does not belong in Kwara," he said

In a related development, the National President of the llorin emirate Descendants progressive Union (lEDPU) Ambassador Usman Sheik Abdulazeez called on the Federal Government to provide more security gadgets and surveillance in Kwara to curb cases of bank robbery and other vices in all parts of the state.

He made the call on Sunday at the palace of of Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Esuwoye during a condolence visit to the monarch.

AbdulAzeez  who is retired Security Exoert noted that the Securuty operatives in the state lack sophisticated equipment that can adequately cater for any security challenges.
