The wife of the paramount traditional ruler of Idoma Kingdom, Her Royal Majesty, Martha Omabo Elaigwu, has empowered hundreds of women in her domain in Benue State.
Mrs Elaigwu, whose husband is the Och’Idoma, HRM John Elaigwu Odogbo, through her Omabo Living Water Foundation (OLWF), brought smiles to the faces of women at the weekend during the outreach held in her Obagaji hometown of Agatu LGA of the state.
The queen, during the outreach christened, “Drink and thirst no more”, doled out wrappers and food items to ameliorate the hardship of women, widows, orphans, and vulnerable children in the Obagaji rural community of Agatu.
She intimated that the OLWF, an NGO initiated by her to empower women, widows, orphans, and vulnerable children in Idomaland and beyond, would among other things continue to care for vulnerable widows, children, and orphans.

Mrs Elaigwu also said the foundation would provide scholarships to hopeless and helpless orphans as well as training and skill acquisition for the youths
She applauded other NGOs that render similar services to the vulnerable, noting that her foundation was formed to reach the vulnerable, no matter where they lived in Idoma kingdom so as to provide immediate succour to them, as a mother who cares for her children.
She distributed 300 wrappers, 5kg 650 bags of rice, 15 cartons of seasoning (Maggi), and 10 bags of salt to over 300 widows and the vulnerable in Agatu.
Mrs Elaigwu explained that God brought her as the queen of the Idoma kingdom for a purpose and a time such as this even as she counselled the gathering not to lose faith in God because He knows their situation and has a plan to better their lot.
