The governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, and his Ebonyi counterpart, David Umahi, have urged residents in their states to ignore the sit-at-home order issued by leadership of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and go about their legitimate businesses today.
lPOB had declared Monday sit-at-home to press for the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu who is facing trial. Umahi, in a statement by his media aide, Francis Nwaze, said it was inconsequential to draw the state backward through temporary deactivation of its economic activities in the guise of a sit-at-home order.

He urged the people to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of intimidation or molestation, both on the said date and thereafter.
He also warned the youth to desist from engaging in any activities that are capable of breaking down law and order.
He also urged security agencies in the state to maintain law and order and ensure that all law-abiding citizens go about their duties unmolested.
Also, Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, has directed all civil servants in the state to report to work today, warning that any person who abstains from duty in obedience to the sit-at-home directives would be sanctioned, including salary cut.
He further directed commissioners and permanent secretaries in the state to monitor the situation and report accordingly.
Imo state police command has said that it would not hesitate to deal ruthlessly with anybody that causes any breakdown of law and order.
The Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, enjoined all residents of the state to go about their duties without any hindrance.
In a statement by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Mike Abattam, the commissioner of police advised the residents to resist in its entirety any person who tries to enforce any illegal order that is not from a legitimate authority.
He warned that security agencies would also come down heavily on such persons.
