A former Secretary to Anambra State Government (SSG), Chief Osaeloka Henry Obaze, has emerged as the PDP flag-bearer ahead of the November 18 governorship election in the state.
Obaze scored 672 votes during the party’s primary election held, yesterday, in Awka. His closest rival, Alexander Obiogbolu, scored 190 votes.
The chairman of Capital Oil and publisher, Authority Newspaper, Ifeanyi Patrick Uba, trailed behind with 94 votes.
A former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Oduah and two others had at the commencement of the accreditation withdrawn from the exercise.
Announcing the results of the exercise yesterday, Ebonyi State governor and Chairman of PDP Primary Election Committee for Anambra State, David Umahi, said the exercise was peaceful. He said 958 delegates from the 21 local governments in the state were accredited for the congress/primary election.
