Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, on Sunday, met the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Sa’ad Bamgbola.
Obasanjo, joined by Obi, the immediate past Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Tunji Ishola, the National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu, visited Bamgbola to felicitate with him on occasion of his 90th birthday.

The former president said that as a Muslim leader, he has provided inspirational leadership to millions of the faithful and used the high office in fostering understanding and unity among all, irrespective of their religion or ethnic background.
“I was on my way into the lift when I met my friend and brother and former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and his entourage arriving for the Church thanksgiving service. I immediately urged him to join me on this visit. So, also for the chairman of ADC and others that have joined me here this morning for this visit,” Obasanjo said.
