Obasanjo, Jonathan, Sanwo-Olu, nominated for international award

Former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan; Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Nyesom Wike are among personalities nominated for awards by a Canada-based media outfit, Topflyers Magazine International.

Among others nominated are the WTO DG, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II and an entertainment icon, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of the publishing company, Musa Yahaya, in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, said the personalities were nominated for the 9th edition of the magazine’s award scheduled for September 2021.

He said the process of voting for the nominated people had already commenced.

He said the 2021 edition of the award ceremony would feature public office holders, royal fathers, artisans, content creators, religious leaders, CEOs, activists, philanthropists, fashion designers and all those who have greatly excelled in their fields of endeavour and have contributed to the socio-capital development of Nigerians, Nigeria and Africa at large.

Musa said this year’s award nominees were in different categories, with four nominees, out of which one person would emerge as the winner of the category through free and fair voting by Nigerians.

Winners of awards in previous editions included Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District; Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State;
Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State; Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, Minister of State for FCT; a former Kano State Governor, Senator Kabiru Gaya and Minister of State, Mines and Steel, Dr Uche Ogah, among others.

He said voting, which is at http://www.topflyersmagazines.com, is expected to be concluded by the end of August.
