Tomorrow’s local derby between Plateau United and league leaders, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in Jos will pitch two brothers, Joshua and Godwin Obaje against each other as they will be fighting for the three points at stake.
When the two clubs met in the first round, the better known Joshua was yet to join Plateau United but the return fixture which will be staged at the Rwang Pam stadium Jos will see his younger brother who is gunning for the Highest Goal scorer award trying to get the better of him.
The two brothers play as strikers and will be aiming to score to give their sides victory in the match which will surely attract a capacity crowd.
The younger Obaje, Godwin said he cannot wait to play against his elder brother who has been his source of inspiration.
“Remember the other time I told you how much support I have enjoyed from my elder brother Joshua. He has been there for me right from the beginning. I learnt a lot from him.
“I cannot wait to play against him for him to see why I am one of the best strikers in the league. I am seriously looking forward to this very important match of my career.
“I know he will also like to play against me. I surely respect him but I won’t allow him to go away with victory. We need the three points,” he said.
Joshua also said he is so proud of his younger brother’s performance and playing against him tomorrow will surely be another important day in his career.
He said he is looking forward to the big clash with great expectations.
“It is going to be happy meeting for me. When Plateau United played Wikki in the first round, I was not with them so I missed the opportunity to play against him.
“This time, I will be part of the team that will play Wikki so barring unforeseen circumstances, the world is going to watch the two Obaje’s fighting for the three points in a brotherly manner,” he said.
While Joshua scored Plateau United’s consolatory goal against Warri Wolves, Godwin was suspended for the home match against Kano Pillars.
