The Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, has said the university’s entrepreneurial programme would galvanise employment for its graduates.
He noted that the programme, which stood out among several others in the school’s curriculum, aimed at quality education and national development, introduced for self employment and empowerment among its graduates.
He stated this during a media briefing to herald the ongoing activities marking the institution’s 60th anniversary.
Ogunbodede, who emphasised tertiary institution’s responsibility to develop and implement relevant curriculums to address the unemployment challenge in the country, disclosed that the OAU “had a robust entrepreneurship programme to improve employability and ability of our graduates to contribute effectively to national development.”
He said, “The university has achieved rapid growth and development, particularly in areas of academic programmes, research, infrastructural development and human resource development.”
