The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU) Ile-Ife, on Thursday, said a former Vice-Chancellor of the school, Professor Anthony Elujoba who was involved in an auto crash has not died as widely rumoured.
The Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju told Daily Trust that the death rumour was not true and that Professor Anthony Elujoba is alive.

He said “Professor Anthony Elujoba is not dead. It’s true that he had an auto crash. It is heartwarming to know that he is responding to treatment.
“We, therefore, want the general public to disregard, in its entirety, the malicious rumour and be praying for quick recovery of the erudite scholar.”
Olarewaju said the rumour of the death of the former VC was not only false but wicked, malicious and very unfortunate.
