The Chairman, OAK Pensions Limited, Dr. Awa Ibraheem, says the company is making right investment choices that will guarantee its contributors better returns on investment.
Ibraheem said at the company’s 12th annual general meeting (AGM) in Lagos that the company’s duty was to manage funds on behalf of retirees and ensure that the funds grow so that when they retire, they benefit more than what they contributed.
The chairman said the firm tries to balance the returns with the risks by making sure that the interest of its retirees are well protected.
He said it was different for the rates on returns to be very high, and another for the risks to be minimised.
He said the company was preparing to welcome the informal sector when the micro-pension scheme eventually commences.
While observing that most contributors to the pension scheme were from the government and private sector, he said the informal sector was actually the driver of the economy.
