The governing board of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has lauded the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, for keeping to the promising of building an Orientation camp for Corp members posted to the state.

The NYSC Governing Board Chairman, Amb. Fatima Abubakar, gave the commendation during a tour of the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Okada area of the state.

“Three years ago when we visited the camp, the Corps members were housed in a secondary school. When we visited the governor, he promised to build a new orientation camp for corps members and today, he has kept his promise,”

“So, we are using this opportunity to thank him for keeping to his promise” she said.

She charged the Corp members and NYSC staff to work together on cleaning the environment, noting that facilities in the camp were good but needed to be cleaned and maintained.

According to her, the board is visiting NYSC camp to ensure that it is following the laid down procedure as well as ensuring welfare of corps member.

Earlier, the state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Abiodun Olubukola, said the discipline and team work among the corps members since the commencement of orientation has been commendable.

She said the corps members have been actively participating in the entrepreneurship of the service and would be equipped with the necessary skills needed to contributed to the development of the nation.

She, however, commended the governing board for providing the right leadership and an enabling environment for the smooth operation of the scheme.
