Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure has warned Corps members that with effect from January 2019, any corps members who does not have two consecutive attendance for the Community Development Service (CDS) will be penalised.
Speaking on Wednesday during a visit to the Corps members serving in the Federal Capital Territory through the Director, ICT of the scheme, Mrs Christy Mbah he said from January, CDS attendance will become biometric and any corps members who do not have the biometric signed for two straight attendance will be punished.
He told them that corps members who perform excellently well during their CDS and corps members who come up with personal CDS programmes will get rewarded as some win cash prizes while others get automatic civil service employment.
As the 2019 elections draw closer, Kazaure informed the corps members that most of them will be invited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to help conduct the elections, hence warned them not to get involved into any shady deal with politicians or became partisan.
