NYSC corps member dies after applying sniper chemical on her head

A serving member of the National Youth Service Corps in Osun State, Ademorayo Ayomikun Julianna, has died as a result of sniper chemical she applied on her head to treat her hair.

Our correspondent learnt that the corps member was serving at the Osun State House of Assembly in Osogbo, the state capital.

One of her close friends said her birthday is July 18, 2019 and that she wanted to make a new hair on Sunday for the celebration.

Julianna was said to have been advised to apply sniper  when she kept complaining bitterly of the lice in her hair.

It was gathered that Julianna wanted to kill the lice in her hair and she applied the sniper chemical on her head before going to the hairdresser shop.

An eyewitness said that when she got to the hairdresser shop, the hairdresser was busy with another person and the corps member waited for her turn. While waiting, she fainted.

She was rushed to Our Lady of Fatimah Catholic Hospital, Jaleoyemi, Osogbo but the doctor said she was brought in dead on arrival.

Though another account said that Julianna took the sniper to the hairdresser’s shop and instructed the hairdresser to apply it on her hair another account said she applied it before going to the hairdresser’s shop.

An eyewitness said “At the hairdresser’s shop, blood started coming out from her mouth, nose and ears. She was rushed to a private hospital nearby but was rejected.  She was then taken to Our Lady of Fatima Hospital at jaleyemi, Osogbo, where she was confirmed dead on arrival”.

One of Julianna’s friends who performed an artificial respiration on her  during the rescue efforts has also been admitted into a hospital as a result of the chemical she inhaled in the process.

Eko Trust learnt that the matter was reported to Police and the hairdresser was arrested but when contacted, the State Police spokesperson, Folashade Odoro, said she was not aware of the incident.

It was learnt that Julianna was an orphan with two siblings; one is in secondary school and the other in a primary school in Lagos.
