NYSC: Anambra loses 1 corps member, extends service year for 42

The National Youth Corps Service (NYSC) in Anambra State said it lost one corps member during the 2021/2022 service year as a result of illness.

Also, 42 members have had their service year extended for contravening service rules, while three others were recommended for state award in recognition of their outstanding performance during their service year in the state.

This was disclosed yesterday by state’s Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Blessing Ekene Iruma, at the passing out parade of 2021 Batch B Stream 1 corps members.

29 to repeat in Edo, Ekiti 

In a related development, 29 corps members deployed to Edo and Ekiti states will repeat their service year.

NYSC Coordinator in Edo State, Mrs Abiodun Olubukola, said 18 of the 22 corps members who absconded would have to repeat the entire service year in another location while four had their service year extended.

In Ekiti, the Coordinator, Mrs Mary Chikezie, said seven corps members had their service extended while 11 would repeat service year because of outright abscondment.

She also said one death was recorded and that six corps members were recommended for state awards.

Kogi offers automatic employment to outstanding corps member

Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has offered automatic employment to the outstanding corps member in the state, Mary Ekpa.

The corps member was singled out among the 725 outgoing 2021 Batch “B” stream 1 at a Passing Out Parade at the Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja, yesterday.

Governor Bello, in his address, urged the corps members to make efforts towards making Nigeria a better place through selfless service, dedication to duty, honesty, integrity and accountability.
