NYG: Plateau wins 1st gold as Lagos topples FCT in latest medals table

Plateau state has won its first gold medal at the ongoing 5th National Youth Games holding in Ilorin, Kwara state.

John Emanuel won gold in the 10 kilometres cycling individual time trials while Anita Ayuba won a Silver in the female category of the same event and distance.

Emmanuel returned a time of 15 minutes, 51.28 seconds while Anita Ayuba recorded a time of 19 minutes, 0.54 seconds to achieve the feat.

Meanwhile, Lagos state has displaced FCT on the medals table released on Thursday at 12:19pm with five Gold and 10 Silver medals in the 1st position.

Delta has four Gold, two Silver and two Bronze medals in the 2nd position whilst FCT dropped to the 3rd slot with four Gold, two Silver and two Bronze medals.

Edo occupied the 4th position with four Gold, two Silver and one Bronze medal, while the fifth on the medals table was Ogun with four Gold and one Bronze medal.

Akwa Ibom was in 6th position with three Gold and one Bronze medal, just as Ondo and Ekiti states shared one Gold medal each in 7th and 8th position respectively but the Sunshine state has four Silver and five Bronze better than Ekiti’s two silver.

Bayelsa has one gold and three bronze medals in 9th position followed by Borno with the same number of medals.
