The Nyanya Unit Commander, Assistant corps Commander Yusuf Abdullahi, who made the appeal yesterday in a chat with City News, said the efforts of his team and other security personnel can be better appreciated with the cooperation of motorists.
He attributed the traffic gridlock usually experienced daily on the road to the impatience as well as road traffic violation by most drivers who ply the road.
While appreciating the heavy vehicular movement between Mararaba and the city centre, especially at the early hours and at the close of work each day, he said the traffic is further worsened by the impatience and recklessness of some motorists.
“The traffic along that road, no doubt, is frightening. But if only the motorists and other road users can cooperate with the FRSC and security officials, the traffic will flow and would not be noticeable,” he added.
Abdullahi however called on government to speed up the plans of creating a by-pass or expanding the road to reduce the traffic congestion often experienced on the road.
