Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Chibudom Nwuche has called on Niger Delta militants to shun any kind of hostility and key into the Federal Government peace building process in the region.

Nwuche, who spoke to Daily Trust in Port Harcourt yesterday, said the FG has worked out many plans to ensure that the people of Niger Delta are carried along in the scheme of things, adding that resuming hostility will be counterproductive.

“I want to call on our youths, especially those that are involved in militancy not to resume any kind of hostility in Niger Delta. The recent visit by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to Niger Delta states has gone a long way to restore peace in the region. We cannot continue to destroy our future.”

Nwuche said “The vice president and minister of state for petroleum through the support of President Muhammadu Buhari are working very hard to restore peace in our region.”

He called on the people of the region to be patient and wait for the implementation of all the recommendations made during the visit of the vice president to the region.
