The people of Awgu, under Enugu State, were jubilant as Amb Chijioke Emmanuel Nwadavid rolled out the second batch of his Comprehensive Medical Outreach.

The hope icon and embodiment of humanity continues to provide free medical and quality healthcare to the indigent across Nigeria. Not fewer than 10,000 underprivileged and indigent rural dwellers benefitted from the event.

The Comprehensive Medical Outreach was aimed at providing accessible, free and quality healthcare to the doorsteps of the people.

It is important to note that the senatorial zone lacks a fundamental and functional healthcare system.

The people patronise local medicines and chemists for their health needs. The comprehensive medical outreach brings wellness and special intervention to all.

The long-week event has different departments, properly handled by renowned medical experts in a bid to ensure quality and professional care.

The various department ranges from consultation, dental and surgery department, eye consultation, nursing station and pharmacy, etc, as well as free distribution of medications, wheelchairs, delivery kits, mosquito nets, hygienic packs, glasses, sanitary pads, basic foods, and other materials to children and newly born.

Speaking with newsmen, Amb Nwadavid stated that the program was part of his commitment to give back to society and to bridge barriers orchestrated by moribund health facilities.

He berated the political leaders for neglecting the wellness and health needs of the people.

Amb Nwadavid vowed to continue to place priority on the people and their wellness.

He reiterated his resolve to make the program a perennial event, as a means to follow up and ensure complete care of the sick and beneficiaries of the program.
