Three people, including a nursing mother and her child, have been abducted, while two security operatives sustained injuries in a fresh attack in Garin-Gabas in Rafi LGA of Niger State.
Garin-Gabas has come under attack several times in the last five years.
Residents told Daily Trust that the bandits in their numbers invaded the community around 1am.
A resident who didn’t want his name mentioned said, “Two men sustained gunshot injuries. Bandits took away two motorcycles and they set ablaze a security Hilux and a personal vehicle. Three people, a man and a nursing mother and her child were kidnapped.”

When contacted, the Niger State police spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, promised to revert with details.
But the state government confirmed the attack in a statement through the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim, and described the attack as unfortunate.
Ibrahim said Governor Mohammed Umar Bago sympathised with the victims and Kagara Emirate over the attack.
Bago said, “Security operatives stationed at the Garin- Gabas Primary School were reported to have engaged the bandits while passing through one of their major routes in the area with cattle suspected to have been rustled and two of the security personnel sustained injuries.
“The injured security personnel are receiving treatment in a government health facility while three people were kidnapped.”
