Nursing mother electrocuted in Rivers

An electric spark which occurred at the popular Agip Estate in Port Harcourt, Rivers State claimed the life of mother of a 4-month-old baby yesterday.

An eye witness told our correspondent that the victim, whose name was given as Latifa Seiyi, was killed by a high tension wire that fell on the roof of a building which ignited the fire that caused her death.

The eye witness said the fire was put off by neighbours who later found Seiyi’s charred body in the wrecked building.

The witness said the victim had struggled to rescue her 4-month-old baby, whom was not affected by the fire, when her apartment was gutted  by the inferno.

The eye witness blamed the incident on poor building plan.

The State Police Command’s Public Relation Officer, Nnamdi Omoni could not confirm the story as of press time.
