The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) will today conduct a verification exercise for Customs, Immigration and Prison Pensioners across the country.
This is in a bid to identify fraudulent names smuggled into the federal government pension payroll over the years.
A similar exercise conducted recently uncovered 3,000 ghost police pensioners on the payroll, a development which saved about N100 million monthly for the federal government.
A statement released over the weekend by the Directorate indicated that the exercise is scheduled to take place in 13 centers across Rivers, Edo, Cross River, Enugu, Imo, Lagos, Oyo, Kano, Sokoto, Bauchi, Kwara and Benue states as well as FCT.
PTAD advised all Customs, Immigrations and Prisons Pensioners to come along with all necessary documents of their relevant retirement credentials for the upcoming exercise.
