Bayelsa gov election holds tomorrow amid tight security

Bayelsa State governorship election will hold tomorrow Saturday, December 5 in the eight local government areas.
Twenty candidates with their deputies from 20 political parties will participate in the election which will be conducted under tight security in around the oil rich state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which expressed readiness for the poll, will deploy 9,827 officers.
Barely 24 hours for thousands of electorates in Bayelsa State to go to the poll, Yenagoa, the capital of the State has been witnessing an influx of visitors.
All the hotels have been booked ahead of tomorrow’s poll as residents have also converted their houses into makeshift chalets to accommodate the teeming visitors who were not able to secure accommodation in few available hotel space.
Also, security has been beefed up in the State capital and other major communities that are flash point to violence during elections.
On Wednesday, police authorities said in Yenagoa that about 14,000 of its personnel had been deployed to ensure a watertight security before, during and after the poll.
Analysts see tomorrow’s poll as a key contest between the incumbent Governor Dickson of the PDP and former governor Sylva of the APC.
