Terrorism: GOC urges synergy among security agencies

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Laz Ilo, Wednesday in Ibadan called for synergy among security agencies in the fight against terrorism and corruption, saying no agency can fight the wars alone.
While noting that the two are major hindrances to national development, the GOC reiterated the need for synergy, information and intelligence sharing to bring about greater success in the fight.
He spoke in his office while hosting the Assistant Comptroller General, Nigerian Immigration Service, Zone F Ibadan, Mr. Mike Longe and the Commissioner, ICPC in Oyo/Ogun States, Mr. Stephen Pimor.
He commended the two security agencies for their display of professionalism just as he assured of continued partnership with them towards having a nation free of corruption and terrorism.
The Assistant Comptroller General, NIS, Zone F Ibadan, Longe, remarked that Nigeria is currently going through a critical period which requires closer monitoring of her international borders to prevent infiltration by undesirable elements.
He noted that the 2 Division occupies a strategic position in the South West geo-political zone, especially in the areas of border patrol and monitoring.
