STF recovers another head of rustled cattle in Plateau

The Special Task Force (STF), recently renamed Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) has recovered another set of rustled cows in Plateau State.
This is coming barely a month after the operatives made a similar recovery in the same part of the state.
The operatives recovered 196 cows and 44 sheep in the northern part of the state, after the rustlers abandoned their loot during a chase.
Captain Ikedichi Iweha, the operation’s spokesman, said the recovery was made on Tuesday.
“The recovery is sequel to combined operations between Sectors 5 and 6, targeting rustlers. The leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association has been contacted,” he said.
He called on members of the public to come forward and identify their animals.
“OPSH reiterates its readiness to respond to any breach of peace or security which is capable of causing possible death or destruction of property,” Captain Iweha said.
He warned trouble makers to desist forthwith or be ready to face the law.
Iweha also called on the general public to disregard reports of blockade of the road leading to Jos.
“The security situation on all roads leading into and out of Jos as well as all other roads within the area of operations of OPSH is okay. Road users are urged to commute freely on any of the roads and report promptly any breach as measures are in place to guarantee safety”, he said.
