Prof. Zana Itiunbe Akpagu was yesterday inaugurated as the 10th vice chancellor of the University of Calabar. He succeeds Prof James Epoke who has completed his second term.
Pro-Chancellor of the university, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanyu, performed the installation ceremony in Calabar.
Speaking after his inauguration, Akpagu promised to improve on the institution’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) through aggressive revenue drive.
He also promised to consolidate on infrastructure development.
Praising his predecessor, Prof. Akpagu said: “Your achievements are very feasible. You have made giant strides in all spheres. I can see the massive infrastructural expansion. You have also made giant strides in restoring academic excellence in this institution.”
