The Kano State government has freed 119 inmates. Daily Trust observed that 11 of the beneficiaries were children below the age of 18.
Addressing inmates at the Central Prison, Governor
Abdullahi Umar Ganduje warned them against taking part in anything that would take them back to prison.
“You should change your behaviour for the better after reuniting with your families and well wishers. I hope you will not disappoint government,” he said.
He gave assurance that government would continue to execute programmes and policies that would improve the lives of the people.
Governor Ganduje said the government spent N5 million on the fines for the beneficiaries.
