NULGE postpones branch election as hoodlums assault chairman

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) branch of the Nigeria Union of Local Employees (NULGE) has postponed its election billed to hold in Gwagwalada on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 indefinitely.

President of NULGE, Comrade Abubakar Alhassan Yakub, who announced the postponement, yesterday, said it was taken after hoodlums assaulted the outgoing NULGE branch chairman of the council, Comrade Ishuwa Assha.

“And unfortunately, some hoodlums who attempted to hijack the process assaulted our outgoing NULGE branch chairman, Comrade Ishuwa Assha, and he is currently in hospital,” he said.

He also said the postponement was also to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols.
