The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has donated drugs and consumables worth over N3.5 million to Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in Bununu East and Bununu South in Dass LGA of Bauchi State.
Presenting the items at the emir’s palace in Dass, the President of NULGE in Bauchi State, Comrade Muhammed Yunusa, said the gesture was part of his contribution to ameliorate the suffering of the less privileged.
Yunusa explained that with the current situation in the country, many people at the grassroots were finding it difficult to settle their medical bills.
He enjoined the people of Dass to remain united and continue to support the present administration in Bauchi for the overall development of the area.

Receiving the items on behalf of the benefiting communities, the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, thanked the NULGE president for the gesture, saying that government alone could not meet the needs of the people, hence the need for stakeholders to contribute their quota towards achieving set goals in the health sector.
The monarch, who is the Chairman of the State Immunisation and Polio Eradication Committee, charged the benefiting communities and health workers on the judicious use of the drugs and also encouraged pregnant women to visit hospitals in order to address maternal mortality and child morbidity.
