The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) has signed a pact with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) to affiliate the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and Bachelor Degree programmes with the university.

NTI Director- General, Professor Garba Dahuwa Azare said the affiliation would further boost teachers’ education and ensure that quality and international standards are maintained in teachers’ training across Nigeria.

Prof. Azare who gave an insight into the institute’s activities in Kaduna said NTI has launched a portal for the registration of applicants and payment of fees. With the new portal, he said students are able to pay through their ATM cards and any commercial banks.

On how it works, he said: “A Remita number is generated automatically on submission of the appropriate information to the portal and hence any bank could be used for payment.”
