Staff of the NTA Park in Jos, Plateau State, have protested the closure of the park and its relocation to a new site, in the DB Zang area of Jos South LGA.
News has been making the rounds that the Local Government was planning to either relocate the park from its current location or close it down, and on Thursday security agents shut down all operations.
The protesters, who carried placards with different inscriptions, appealed to the government to reopen the park, saying that thousands of people are benefitting from it.
One of the protesters, Tochukwu Ofodike, said there was no letter or quit notice issued to them, only for them to come on Thursday to see security operatives enforcing the closure of the park.

Ofodike, who is a booking clerk in the park, said since Thursday, when the park was shut, many people were already going through trauma and in disarray as their means of livelihood had been shut down.
On his part, Ibrahim Babangida said most of them have no other means of livelihood and nowhere to go, adding that the new park is too far away from them.
