NSF 2024: MOC calls on Ogun to speed up swimming pool construction

The Main Organizing Committee for the next National Sports Festival tagged “ 2024 Gateway games” yesterday expressed satisfaction with the preparations in place by the Ogun State Government towards successful hosting of the games.

However, the MOC asked the government and the Local Organising Committee to accelerate the construction of the swimming pool which is yet to start.

The Secretary, Main Organising Committee, Mrs Techla Opara stated this while speaking with journalists at the main bowl of MKO stadium, Kuto Abeokuta, after the inspection of facilities in the state capital.

Opara who noted that there were lots of renovations to be done in most of the centers visited said there was the need for government to fast track the process of constructing swimming pool as well as the shooting before the next visit.

“We have been taking around to various places where the athletes will participate in various events. I’m quite impressed and I believe that as time goes on, Ogun state are doing well, and I believe that as time goes on, a lot of renovations will be done in most of the centers.

“I think they will try as much as possible to ensure that the facilities are ready before November 27, 2024. One the of the areas I want them to focus more is on swimming pool.

“They have showed us where they are going to construct the swimming pool, but they are yet to start work there. So I want them to put more concentration before our next visit in April,” she said.
