The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kebbi State has arrested two suspected fake currency circulators.

The suspects, Abubakar Shagari from Sokoto and Shehu Atiku Barama from Gwandu area of Kebbi State were arrested by men of the civil defence along Sani Abacha Bypass in Birnin-Kebbi on Wednesday with fake N1000 and N500 denominations totalling N300,000.

While parading them, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Malam Sammani Ringim, said some corps intelligence officers acting on information from the public, arrested the suspects in their hideouts along the bypass area of Birnin Kebbi.

He said the suspects specialised in printing and circulating counterfeit Naira notes in the state.
