The Research and Innovation unit of the Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has solicited partnership with Media Trust Ltd, publishers of Daily Trust newspapers in the area of using its platform in disseminating information to the public.
The Lead, NSCIA Research and Innovation, Shakir Akorede, who made the call on Friday when he led some of his team members on a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of Media Trust Limited in Abuja, said the unit came into being to address misrepresentation and underrepresentation of Islam through research and innovation.
He said the unit was into a lot of research and writing, adding that that they would like to have a weekly column in Daily Trust where their research and innovative ideas as it relates to Islamic views and other issues could be published.
Responding, the Executive Director/Editor-in-Chief of Media Trust Limited, Naziru Mikailu, who commended NSCIA for establishing a research and innovation unit, assured the team that his medium would do whatever it can to support the organization in spreading messages that would encourage unity and development of the country.
General Manager, Business and Strategy of the company, Ahmed Shekarau, in his remarks, informed the team that besides the column they requested for, they could also utilize the company’s “co-created-content” page to publish their articles and activities of the organization at very discounted rate.
