A communiqué at the end of a two-day National Forum of Islamic Scholars on Moon-Sighting, observant of Islamic Festivals and certain Hajj issues organised by the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), also said that Nigeria will protest to the Saudi Arabia, authorities over the continued camping of its pilgrims outside the boundary of Mina in the oil-rich kingdom.
“There is no basis for the system of life insurance as being practised at present rather, the National Hajj Commission, state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards and private Hajj operators should be encouraged to establish Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Scheme,” the communiqué said.
