The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has trained 270 personnel on weapons handling as part of efforts to meet the current security situation in the state.
The Commandant of the Command, Ahmed Mohammed Dandare also unveiled the Female Armed Squad in the command during the passing out of the trained personnel held in Minna, Niger State.

Dandare said the Female Armed Squad was to complement the male counterpart in the fight against abduction of school children in the state.
He said the female squad was also trained on different techniques to effectively engage in rescue operations, weapon handling, VIP protection, intelligence gathering and tips to tackle sexual gender-based violence.
